In America, the term hip-hop is defined as a culture by the media and our federal government. Our clergy has reluctantly accepted hip-hop as a culture. I decree that hip-hop is not a culture. The term “Hip Hop” is in use as a generalization of the decline of morals in America. Hip-hop is a music genre that went array because of the ignorance of the F.B.I. When the rap group N.W.A. came out with the song “F— the Police” some of the Black civil rights leaders and congress persons grouped all Black teenagers that listened to rap as gangsters as did the F.B.I. in the 60’s with the Black Panthers and the rest of Black Americans. It is sad that an innovation of music was likening to the same degree as a communicable disease.
I am a Black man that was born in 1952. I have raised both of my children along with the help by my wife. My children have never been apart from my life. I have been working in the Oakland school system or with children for thirteen years. I have been as Dad, mentor, athletic coach, advocate & psychologist for every child that I been in contact with. I know what no one would probably admit. There is a consensus among educators that a majority of America’s minority children has wounded emotions and a small number have entertained thoughts of suicide.
The young adults of minorities that were born from 1965-1983 are of a vast majority that have faced long-term economic duress and seen more death and has indulged in illicit sex and drugs more than any group in U.S. history. A fair majority of minority children born from 1984-1995 has adopted the same anxiety. Some of the ones in this group amazingly cannot hold their attention longer than 5 seconds.
Most are sedentary and their attraction is anything that has flash and attainable without effort. A vast majority of both groups has no personal relationship or intimacy with their biological parent especially their Father and that includes some White children. Electronic devices are currently in use as the pacifier.
The statements that attest that teachers or the Public School Systems have felled our children are not the case. It is the vast majority of men in this country. Men have not collectively adhered to the principles of the living God of heaven and earth. Once upon a time, there was a group of men, which granted one woman to be as an antithesis to the likes of Moses. She was the late Madeline Murray O’ Hara. This woman wrecked our nation. Our Supreme Court justices listened to a woman as to the likes of Samson to Delilah. Then God being the gentleman that He is, left.
America the sick-a-ful I mean beautiful. I think that could be a title of a rap. Where ya at Snoop!
That win in court “no prayer in schools” started the moral decline in this country. There is no real allegiance anymore. We have more court battles then heart beats. Our soldiers come home from war to surprisingly, find out they have to fight for their own lively hood.
Look at ourselves. We have a movement in America that hates God or the mention of Jesus. I hate to disappoint anyone but there is no mention of the “separation of church and state” in the constitution. The statement only appears in some of Thomas Jefferson’s letters. Understand this one thing. Jesus is not in competition with the government and nor does He condones the actions of the so-called Christian Right. He only deals with the hearts of us all, individually in His time.
Now we are in a state of a growing dilemma of emotionally uncontrolled children or young-adults that has no awareness or feelings. On occasion reproducing or transmitting frightful, terrible and dreadful dilemmas. In addition, they have no respect on rules of conduct. They believe that school or a job is an attack on their well-being and death is a viable way of escape from self and the world. The relief from anxiety for some is rap music. The real injustice was the seminars or symposiums on what perpetuates what in hip-hop or rap then discontinued without a solution.
America the sick-a-ful I mean beautiful. I think that could be a title of a rap. Where ya at Snoop!

“No prayer in schools started the moral decline in this country…???”hmmmm…I’m not buying it Greg. Americans have already taken religion and stretched it so far it’s at times unrecognizeable. I can think of very few things that would be more exclusionary than religion in public schools.
Hip-hop is to culture as hyphy is to movement. It’s a catch phrase that crackers in the burbs have created so they can put a ribbon around the phenomenon of baggy gear, bling, rims and grills…or in the latter case it’s a catch phrase of a marketing genius called E-40 so he can make hella scrilla and move to Blackhawk and chill with the hip-hop generation phrase creaters.
Amen!
Religion? Who mentioned religion? You don’t have to accept anything but understand this CB. The one that gives you the power to breathe grants you an opportunity to accept the principle of faith. It is obvious you are operating in foolishness & presumption because you desire something tangible, thats the way for most. Hip hop today is nothing like the originators, like the groups, Guy, Jodeci, New Edition & Boys to Men. Hip hop of today is hip slop. Three weeks after it hits the charts you don’t care to hear it yourself. The power & influence in a most case scenario that comes from this hip slop is death, disease & being locked-up. Those so-called crackers in the burbs don’t originate anything. They just reproduce, market & distribute this Black ignorance. Have dialogue with E-40, Jay-Z, Diddy & Russell Simmons. You’ll discover with that amount of wealth it ain’t so important to be Black. You won’t comprehend any of this until 3 or 4am. Get thee life son.
this sounds good… I would like to hear more… this is deep, real shit, thats missing in our society. i respect both of your points… however, their can be only one winner… Mr. Baaps where are you… please add ur 2 cent… I need to read this article, it sounds like i missed something the first time…
Call me foolish and/or presumptious, but aren’t Jodeci, NE and B2M R&B artists, guy?…slow jams, if you will…but if you consider them the originators of hip-hop, then yes sir–things sure have changed! If today’s hip-hop is as disposible as you say then how could it have so much of this described power and influence in people?…which is it? Disposable or powerful & influential? I haven’t had a chance to conversate with Jay, Diddy & Russ so I may never get to the bottom of this…I did speak with Imani, the Pharcyde dude–he was pretty cool. I would suggest checking out Lupe, Mos, Common or Talib, but I have this feeling you already have your mind up…oh well…do me a favor, don’t tell Flash and Melle Mel about this whole Jodeci theory…thanks Guy.
Look baby boy. Those artist that I spoke of Professed and confessed that they are Hip-hop artist in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Industry exc’s bought the hype. I never said hip-hop was disposable you assume too much. I am not going to convince you not to listen to what is conducive to you, its your era. Music hasn’t got much better in the 00’s, TO ME. It is not this generations fault. When they toke music out of schools it destroyed your era’s creativity. I like good music regardless of genre. Remember I am the one that said don’t blame Hip-hop. When you speak of power & influence think of the incarceration rate, murder rate, date rape, pregnacy & prostitution as young as 12. It is not the music per se, it is the lyrics with some of the music. I like PAC; Too-Short; DJ Quik; Ice-Cube & Snoop but they don’t MOLD me. Most of you don’t know when to wind down to be productive in your life. I called out the source & it wasn’t music. You may lack a little comprehension so go back & read it again. You spoke of religion, Jesus didn’t like that either but that is another story. Peace out!
I see that a very interesting discussion is going on up in here. I like to share my opinion too but I got more problems than hip hop to deal with in our societies. All of you have some good points and I hope we will all learn from one another. I would love it if all hip-hopers were to be like Malcome-X, M. L. King, Lumumba, Bob Marley, etc… instead of portraying O.Gs, Thugs, N-words, B-words, Pimping, Blings and all other negativities. It be would be nice if rapers could take the advantage of being icons to be positive role models. Peace out!
Hip-Hop is dead, so why would I want someone who is dead to be a role model…humm parents need to step the fuck up. Motherfuckers need to point the blame on the real ass holes… the radio stations who decides what we motherfucking hear… Hip-Hop is dead, the media, is the real problem. Our schools are outdated, since we are the blame society lets blame Hip-Hop… for teaching our kids how to think. get the fuck out of here. Our school is more responsible for the shit they learn, considering they baby sit them for 8 plus hours a day. let blame our schools for not teaching a motherfucker a skill… these little motherfuckers spend 12 motherfucking years and no motherfucking skills for life. fuck, i want to be a rapper too, just don’t ask me to be a motherfucking role model… //signed// R Kelly
Rich, pimp-juice,…can you spit without the f-bombs and mf bombs in every freaking sentence? Not only is it completly offensive, but 9 times out 10 the reader is going to get lost in your profanity and your point will be gone forever. Give it a try old dogg. Try it for 1 week. If it doesn’t do anything for you go back to your old ways and call me a m-f-b who doesn’t know what the f she’s talking about.
I’m not going to call you a M-F who doesn’t know what the F she’s talking bout… Candy Bar, you are too sweet for me to call you any thing bad. I’m just looking for negative attention just like the hip hop artist. they used M-F words and don’t forget the B works, and how could I forget the N words in their rap music… hummm. i’m just like them… once again I would never, never ever call you a M-F , i did say never ever, never, ever, ever, ever, never call you a M-F… I will for one week not be like the hip hop artist… //signed// 50 Cent and G-Unit, The Game, NWA
Candy Bar, I respect the fact that you as a white lady would want to teach pimp juice have to speak, and talk. I’M LMAO… Snow Flakes, I’m for the “ghetto”, That’s how we motherfuckin talk… where are you from my little white girl?… //signed// Bernie Mack
CB, Pimp Juice is in the motherfucking house… working on my mother fuckin 101 english… get the fuck out here with that shit…
can we just get along… //signed// Rodney King
Gangsta rap,Made me do it, gangsta rap, I can say what the fuck I want to say, If I called you a N…er gangsta rap made me do it. Anit nothing to it,.. gangsta rap made me do it. I will say what the fuck I want to say… and how the fuck I want to say it… just call me the pimp in the box, pimp juice… gangsta rap made me do it… Mr. Baaps, what the fuck did I do with my motherfuckin pimp juice… I’m getting too motherfuckin old for this type of behavior O G.., but when CB tell you how to write and talk, it’s does something to me. It cause me to look deep down inside of my mind, makes me wonder lol to myself. who really got the issues here. If I was a betting me, I would point the blame on pimp juice, that motherfucker can’t control his mouth. But since I’m not a betting men, I’m going to blame gangsta rap for black people problems. That’s what we are really talking about. my gangsta and first amendment rights, yes, motherfucki freedom of speech which allows us to say almost any motherfuckin thang… If a men can’t make a living with his natural skills by staying inside the box, then who can really blame hip hop and gangsta rap for telling the truth bout our society. These motherfucker’s just report what they see in our communities across the nation. I don’t see motherfucker telling the NewYork POst, big business what the fuck to write or say. These ass holes are the real problems. They do bull shit all the times in our communities. and If it wasn’t for old school raps, motherfuckers wouldn’t have a media to report the news coming from our motherfuckin ghetto’s. NWA reported back in the day, Fuck the Police… that’s wasn’t too long ago was it?…. Old School reported the news from the mic, that how it was then and thats how it is now… we just don’t want to hear the truth. Too Short, reported the truth back then and now. Let’s just blame pimp juice for the incorrect use of the english word “motherfucker”… Which is a pronoun, person, place or thang… //signed// Pimp Juice…
Don’t Blame Pimp Juice…
pimp juice..
