“I am a real Gangsta” Hip Hop artists love to say these words. The questions is, are they real gangsters, or they are just faking it? Many rappers claim to be tougher than the average person and call themselves Thugs, Gangsters, Pimps etc… But all that swagging seems to be happening only when the lights and cameras are turned on. It means that in real live, these self acclaimed gangsters usually drop their G-figures, specially when dealing with the law.
For example, the rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. known as Lil Wayne or Weezy was arrested and taken into custody a week ago in Idaho after a concert performance on a felony warrant stemming from a drug possession charge.
“Carter was arrested without incident and was ‘compliant’ with officers,” officials said.
Apparently there were no “G” figure in this Weezy case, although he claims to be a gangster on a lot of his songs.
These rappers/”Thug entertainers” know not to mess with the law because they know that real O.G. judges can make their butts pick up trash for up to 160 hours, Snoop Dogg knows what I’m taking about.
Surprisingly, the rapper Foxy Brown, who used to call herself the “Ill Nana” seems to be keeping it straight up gangster even being behind bars.
“Foxy Brown, who is serving a one-year jail term, twice refused to get on a correction department bus Friday for a court appearance, the prosecutor�s office said.
The 28-year-old rapper was arrested in August and accused of striking Arlene Raymond, 25, after the pair got into a fight July 30 over Brown blasting her car stereo near her home in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
On Friday, Brown refused to be taken from Rikers Island prison to be arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court. She is now scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, the prosecutor�s office said. If Brown refuses, the court could issue an order allowing correction officers to put her in handcuffs and force her onto the bus.
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, is serving a year in jail for violating probation � skipping her court-ordered anger management classes and traveling out of the city without permission. The probation stemmed from her fight with manicurists in a New York City nail salon three years ago.”
Is Foxy more gangster than others or she is just losing it? Whatever the case is, I hope that she will quickly come out of that mess to be not a gangster but the real artist she has been for years. The good news is her new album, �Brooklyn�s Don Diva,� is set for release Nov. 20.
