This wasn’t the man on the radio, video or BET. He didn’t travel with 30 body guards. No, this time Too Short just sat down, and spoke to these students who were performing at their best while Too Short music was playing in the background. That made a big difference!
Too Short is a product of the Bay Area and people respect Short for keeping it real, and staying home.
This artist was born and raised in Oakland, CA just like these kids in Uprising Center. These kids in the Bay Area have been supporting Short Dogg for years by purchasing his albums, so this was an opportunity for him to give back the love and support .
We haven’t seen too many Bay Area artists like Too Short supporting our kids in their education. That is why seeing Too Short who came and get more involved in the youth’s activities around their areas plays a huge role in these children’s lives. Bay Area yougnsters are looking at Short and E40 and many others shot-callers who represent the Bay as their role models. So, for someone like Short to come and sit with them and support them, we at Makodef think that is a good thing.
Too Short’s lyrics may be criticised by some people but his actions can definitly show the good intentions behind the man’s mind.
We are looking forward to seeing more involvement and support from big timers in any kind of field. If you are out there doing it big, always remember that your support is needed by others.
